ABOUT US :

Located in the heart of Baltimore’s Mount Vernon Cultural District, the Peabody Institute was founded in 1857 as America’s first academy of music. Peabody trains musicians and dancers of every age and level through its degree-granting Conservatory and its community-based Preparatory school of music and dance. The Peabody Preparatory shares space with the Peabody Conservatory in downtown Baltimore and has three satellite branches in Towson, Annapolis, and Howard County, MD. The Preparatory has approximately 2,000 students studying all orchestral instruments, guitar, piano, voice, dance, theory, composition, early childhood, orchestra, chamber music, and more.

The Preparatory Piano Department welcomes students of all ages and abilities, from beginner to advanced. Beginners and young students will begin with our Piano Enrichment classes. More advanced students are encouraged to audition for the Peabody Piano Academy, our most selective program for talented and motivated piano students.

The Piano Department offers several ways for students to enrich their education, including studio recitals, repertoire classes, master classes with guest artists, and the Music Certificate Program. The Peabody piano faculty is a group of highly experienced pianist-teachers who are also busy as performers and recording artists.
