Job Description



PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Director, Admissions and Outreach m anages staff and/or resources to provide specific program or service offerings to internal or external stakeholders. Provides leadership in the planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive enrollment management program in student services. Oversees the office of Admissions, Outreach & Recruitment, and Orientation. Responsible for designing, and implementing procedures related to admissions, recruitment, outreach, and orientation. Provides leadership and assumes primary responsibility for budget development and management in areas under the supervision of this office. Responsible for system and local reports adhering to state, federal, system and local guidelines. Collaborates with other district and campus/college administrators, faculty, and staff to provide service to students.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides leadership to plan, design, administer and evaluate all aspects of enrollment management for the college
  • Directs admissions process; prepares related reports
  • Reviews and analyzes data pertinent to enrollment management decisions, goals, and strategic programming functions for improving enrollment management functions
  • Develops, interprets, and implements all applicable policies, procedures, and regulations pertaining to enrollment services
  • Works collaboratively with college leadership to increase admissions rates and to provide comprehensive student services that are high quality, student-centered, staff-friendly, and aligned with best and current practices in student services
  • Evaluates and improves services to students
  • Provides leadership to plan, design, administer, and evaluate outreach and recruiting and orientation programs that align with strategic goals of the college
  • Represents the college on System-wide committees and teams pertaining to student services as directed by the Dean of Student Success
  • In collaboration with the Dean of Student Success, creates online and print publications highlighting services to students
  • Enforces college policies and procedures. Helps create a safe and pleasant learning environment
  • Works collaboratively with the Dean of Student Success to provide leadership for special projects involving student services, including LSC Completion initiatives
  • Works collaboratively with the Dean of Student Success, the Vice President of Instruction and Student Success, to provide services to prospective and incoming students
  • Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned

    PHYSICAL ABILITIES :

    The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

    WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:

    • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
    • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
    • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards


    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree and a t least 5 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Experience must include at least 3 years in a manager- or director-level position


    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Master's degree


    Salary

    Hiring salary range is $79,960 - $91,954

    Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education. Should you receive an offer of employment from Lone Star College, the resume submitted in the application process will be utilized to calculate your salary offer.
