Job Responsibilities:

The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is seeking a Senior Application Analyst in the Information Technology Services Department. This positions primary responsibility will be administration of the Colleges reporting tool, currently Cognos; to include the coordination of upgrade implementation, user training, report and dashboard creation. Will maintain tight security in areas of responsibility and working closely with IT systems and networking staff; research, communicate, and implement new systems or modules as well as coordinate with the analyst team, users, vendors and other IT staff.

Required to collaborate with functional users to identify needs, analyze possible vendor-developed solutions and develop in-house new functionality/modifications/systems to meet the needs; make decisions/recommendations regarding solutions and technical processes to successfully satisfy these needs. Will consult with functional users as a technical expert for assigned in-house/Banner applications, implementations and integrations; lead collaborative efforts and actively participate in user teams, solve programming, design and troubleshooting issues escalated by the other analysts. Must be able to provide advanced analysis, design and other support for these complex enterprise mission critical application systems; provide backup support for other modules/other complementary or integrated applications.

Provides advanced analysis, design, customization and support for these complex enterprise mission critical applications, support for other modulesapplications and senior analyst at the discretion of the Director of enterprise applications. Responsible for designing dashboard metrics and reports, dashboards and scorecards to support the institution’s strategic planning, assessment, and accreditation processes. Works as the primary administrator of the Cognos data reporting tool environment and processes, data source extract, transform and load (ETL) design and processes, reporting toolset configuration, implementation, and maintenance. Work closely with DBA, IT Infrastructure staff, network engineering to guarantee security measures; ensure data integrity and protection.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science OR related area and experience in computer system development and modification. Related and relevant experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree. Extensive analyst and management skills are essential. Effective oral and written communications skills. Team Collaboration and leadership skills necessary. Experience developing web based applications; good working knowledge of SQL and SQL Developer. E

Knowledge of computer system analysis, design, testing and implementation. Ability to plan, organize, and follow-through multiple projects. Required to work independently on areas of responsibilities as well as be able to work effectively in a team environment. Must be able to act with discretion and good judgment. Some occasional travel for professional development, conferences and meetings may be required. After hours support required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with programming to relational DB's (Oracle) preferred. Working knowledge of Ellucian Banner 9/9 SSB desirable. Experience with jQuery/JavaScript, using IntelliJ Idea Ultimate and GitHub.
