The Department of Biomedical Engineering at Yale University seeks to hire an Assistant / Associate / Full Professor in Neuroengineering beginning as early as July 1, 2022. While we are interested in all areas of research within Neuroengineering, we are most interested in candidates whose research efforts will complement the department’s existing strengths in neuroimaging, biomaterials, systems biology, or biomechanics, and who will interact productively with the many related research efforts at Yale, including strong programs in Neuroscience, Neurosurgery, and the newly established Wu Tsai Institute, which seeks to understand human cognition. Examples of research foci of interest are, but not limited to: engineering to understand, interact with, repair, or re-engineer the brain and nervous system; brain-machine interfaces and thus neural prostheses; innovative neurotechnologies for mapping, stimulation, and control of neural network functions; interaction between the nervous and non-nervous systems (e.g., the gut, immune system, and metabolic system), and systems neuroscience and neural signal processing.
QualificationsThe appointee must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related field, and usually have completed substantial postdoctoral training. Exceptional candidates without postdoctoral training are welcome to apply. The successful candidate is expected to establish a dynamic research group, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, be an interactive member of the faculty, and to uphold our core values, including equity and inclusion. For more information on Yale BME’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, please visit: LINK TO OUR STATEMENT https://seas.yale.edu/departments/biomedical-engineering/diversity.
