 Position Title: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor of Project Management

 Employment Type: Full Time Faculty

 Reports To: The Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor of Project Management will report to Dean,   Associate Dean, and Department Chair

 

The College of Business, Economics, and Computing is AACSB accredited and recognizes multiple types of research including basic, applied, and pedagogical. The college particularly values teaching, research and professional engagement that connects the faculty and students to the vibrant SE Wisconsin region, as well as global business.  The college also encourages high impact practices such as supervising student organizations, participating in competitions, and undergraduate/graduate student research.

Applicants should have or be completing a Ph.D., D.B.A. or other similar terminal degree in Project Management, Management, or related Business discipline. The teaching load for the position is 24 credits annually (4/4 load is the norm) with some reassign time possible for teaching graduate classes. Applicants should be interested in teaching in a variety of formats including face-to-face, online, and competency based education.

 

Key Job Responsibilities

  1. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Project Management area from managerial perspective (soft skills). Additional area of teaching responsibility is Management. Some of area is teaching expertise include but not limited to Resource and Time Management, Risk Management, Negotiation and Conflict Management, Leadership, Strategic Management, Creative and Innovative Management , and Cross-Cultural Management. Assigned classes can be taught in face-to-face, online, hybrid, or competency-based format.
  2. Advise and mentor students.
  3. Develop new classes and update existing classes in face-to-face, hybrid, online, and competency-based format as needed.
  4. Maintain currency through scholarly work and professional engagement.
  5. Attend department, college, and university meetings and assist with relevant activities and events.
  6. Provide service to the university, community, and the relevant academic discipline profession; service can include advising student organizations
  7. Perform other duties as assigned

 

 

Qualifications

  • Candidates with PhD, DBA, or similar terminal degree in the area of supply chain management, operations management. Other areas may also be considered.
  • All but Dissertation (ABD) candidates are encouraged to apply. A doctoral degree must be completed by start date.
  • Demonstrated record of high-quality annual research productivity in recent years with increasing expectations in accordance with higher rank and experience.
  • Candidates at the Associate or Professor level must have the academic credentials, including active scholarship, service, and a strong teaching record, to qualify for these positions.
