The Senior Director for Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation, the University’s chief institutional research officer and SACSCOC liaison, is responsible for assisting the Associate Provost with facilitating, expanding, and adding depth to the institutional research process and activities across the Institution. Further, in support of accreditation requirements, the Senior Director provides data management and analysis in the areas of planning, assessment, institutional effectiveness and student success. Data management and analysis will coincide with leadership collaboration and continuing evaluation of student success initiatives, as well as services to students.

The Senior Director will:

Administer the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation, with full authority for the department. Provide supervision for an effective analytical framework for University improvement. Provide leadership and ensure compliance in meeting State and Federal reporting initiatives and requirements. Develop and implement policies for Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation in accordance with the University’s policies and procedures.

Coordinate the collection, organization, and interpretation of institutional data for effectiveness analysis; Respond to assigned requests for data promptly; collect, analyze, and disseminate trend data regarding the university about its peer and aspirational institutions.

Support internal survey design, management, and analysis;

Provide leadership monitoring the University’s strategic plan.

Design and conduct statistical analyses in support of planning, evaluation, and program assessment.

Provide leadership and guidance to facilitate AUM’s institutional effectiveness process in compliance with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges ( SACSCOC ) Principles and Accreditation.

Serve as the University’s liaison to SACSCOC, and serve as a peer evaluator for other universities that belong to SACSCOC .

Support school and program-level accreditation efforts through advising and assisting others in planning, implementing, and reporting for the purpose of evaluation and continuous improvement.

Direct the human, financial, and other resources needed to accomplish objectives of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness. Develop, monitor, and administer the departmental budget. Provide administrative leadership and supervision. Recommend, hire, orient, train, and evaluate assigned staff; monitor and coordinate staff development and training programs. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of word processing and database management software, including Oracle-based software such as Banner Information System.
  • Knowledge of best practices for research, strategic planning, and assessment.
  • Knowledge of budgeting principles and practices.
  • Extensive knowledge of data sources, data transfer between different systems, and data mining and analysis.
  • Knowledge of acceptable supervisory practices.
  • Knowledge of recent changes and trends in institutional research, planning and assessment theory.
  • Knowledge of quantitative methods and statistical procedures for analyzing institutional effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and conduct in-depth research projects, apply analytical and evaluative techniques, formulate conclusions and make recommendations in promoting continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal rules and regulations regarding institutions of higher education.

Minimum Qualifications:
