FACULTY APPOINTMENT CHEMISTRY
The Department of Chemistry at Carthage College invites applications for a full-time, renewable three-year appointment starting August 2022. The successful candidate will teach general chemistry courses and occasionally, organic chemistry. Candidates from all specialties are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will also provide creative direction for our General Chemistry Laboratory program. Applicants should have a Ph.D. or M.S. in Chemistry or Chemical Education and a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and supporting a diverse student population.
The Chemistry Department is ACS certified and has recently moved into a newly renovated science center. Our equipment includes a 400-MHz NMR, GC-MS, HPLC, GC, FTIR, MP-AES, and UV/VIS. The Carthage faculty is firmly committed to the liberal arts tradition and interdisciplinary work. A demonstration of teaching ability will be required at the final interview.
