Social Media Specialist - (STA008389)



Develop, plan, and monitor various social media platforms and on the web for University-wide communications. Research and analyze market trends and implement branding strategies through participation in online activities.

  1. Serve as the communication liaison to alert division management of trends in social media of potential threats, shape stakeholders engagement in the brand and assist to mitigate risks.
  2. Create daily content and execute social media campaigns for execution. Collaborate with marketing, internal communications and media relations to develop and schedule content to align and coincide with non-social media collateral that promotes the university and its various units and functions.
  3. Ensure content is in line with university initiatives, best practices, policies, and procedures.
  4. Responds appropriately and provides feedback to university social media followers.
  5. Serves as primary contact for inbound requests from online university properties and the web at large.
  6. Monitors online conversations and participates in them to build brand visibility and thought leadership.
  7. Produces social media posts, photos, videos, and other content to creatively communicate university message.
  8. Participates in the strategic planning of the university social media initiatives.
  9. Establishes metrics and reports on them on a monthly basis. Makes recommendations based on analysis of collected data.
  10. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate should have experience managing official brand accounts on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram, developing creative digital content in a fast-paced environment, and expert-level proficiencies in Adobe Creative Suites, especially Adobe Premier Pro and Photoshop.

Preferred experience in content creation, photography and videography

Additional Job Duties:
  • Creates and executes digital concepts; develops artwork for materials such as videos, animated GIFS, and memes, which includes producing professional- quality still photography and Photoshop editing, and videography production.
  • Provides social coverage of live events.

Qualifications :

Bachelors and 1 years experience

Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of one (1) year of directly job-related experience.
