The primary purpose of this position is to cultivate, solicit, and steward prospective donors with major and deferred gift potential ($25,000 and more), with specific attention on gifts and commitments of $100,000 and more. The individual in this position will focus effort on cultivating interest in College programs and initiatives that include capital projects, student scholarships, faculty chairs and professorships, the endowment, campus programs, planned gifts, as well as the annual fund. Working closely with the alumni and donor relations and annual giving teams, this position will leverage all of the engagement resources at their disposal to maximize the connection of alumni and friends with Grinnell College. This position will, in partnership with development research and analytics, manage a portfolio of no more than 150 prospects (alumni, parents, and friends) in target market locations. Overnight travel is required as well as the ability to work evenings and weekends. Development and Alumni Relations at Grinnell College is flexible when considering the location of the incumbent’s residency and telecommuting arrangements.

The successful candidate must have a bachelor’s degree and at least 2 to 3 years proven track record of successfully closing major gifts (outright and planned) is preferred.
