Office Manager, Upward Bound (Grant Funded) Part-time

Job Summary:
This is a 25 hour per week, hourly position. Provides administrative support for the Upward Bound Project Director and assistance for Upward Bound personnel by performing office management functions including, but not limited to, maintaining participant database, generating reports, filing and general office record keeping.

Essential Functions:
1. Organizes and maintains accurate and timely office files, records including administrative (Time and Effort, Expense Reports, Absence Reports, etc.) and participant activity records (weekly attendance, Saturday College Prep, college tours, cultural/social activities, etc.)
2. Responsible for managing the Upward Bound office and performing necessary bookkeeping duties and documentation related to participant activities.
3. Manages the database entries and review of entries in preparation for submission of the Annual Performance Report to the U.S. Department of Education.
4. Creates, organizes and maintains participant databases and files; generates report, including weekly, monthly and annual reports.
5. Provides clerical support to the Program Director and staff, including mailings, contacting participants and/or parents via telephone, filing, copying, ordering office and educational supplies.
6. Generates requisitions, correspondence, and other paper work associated with the Upward Bound program.
7. Attends weekly staff meetings, generates staff meeting minutes, and distributes minutes to Upward Bound staff.



Other Duties:
Performs other duties as assigned.

Accountabilities:
Under the supervision of the Project Director is accountable for the effective operation of the Upward Bound office, providing clerical support for the Upward Bound Project Director and staff.

Job Specifications:
Associate Degree required. Minimum of two years of successful experience in an office position. Record keeping and organizational skills required. Microsoft Office proficiency (including ACCESS and Excel proficiency) required. Database experience required. Experience working in an educational setting and working with at-risk population preferred. Confidentiality required.

Part time staff are not employed directly by Lake Michigan College with a few exceptions based on MSPERS retirement program. All others are employed thru EDUStaff, LLC.
