The University of Lynchburg, a private, regional university in the beautiful foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Central Virginia, is accepting applications for a full-time registrar.

Responsibilities include managing the day-to-day operations of the registrar’s office; communications to students, faculty, staff, alumni and administration regarding policies and procedures; ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and security of academic records and data; FERPA expertise and training; experience with various types of reporting and familiarity with reporting tools; ensuring compliance with National Student Clearinghouse reporting requirements; providing oversight and guidance to others on how to interact with the student information system and developing best-practices for handling data within the system; oversees and/or produces the academic calendars and catalogs; participates in University committees, as needed; demonstrates a clear understanding of academic programs, degree requirements, academic policies; and has a basic of understanding of financial aid policies as it relates to student programs and student statuses.

Candidates must demonstrate an attention to detail, exhibit excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills, and the ability to work well with multiple constituents across departments. The successful candidate must have a minimum of five years working in a position with increasing responsibility within a higher education registrar’s office, working directly with students, faculty, staff, alumni and administration and have successful supervisory and leadership experience. Preference will be given to candidates with a proven proficiency in using student information systems and registration software. Master’s degree preferred; however, a bachelor’s degree with relevant work experience will be considered.
