The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (ELPS) at Howard University consists of two nationally recognized degree programs: Master of Educational Leadership, Doctor of Educational Leadership, and one certificate program. In 2017, the Department added a Doctor of Philosophy program in Higher Education Leadership and Policy Studies, which is rapidly gaining national recognition and prominence. The programs in ELPS are designed to prepare students to become educational leaders and policy professionals. The programs reflect Howard University’s commitment to addressing the needs of urban and diverse communities with a deep-rooted focus on social justice. Tenure-Track Position at the Assistant or Associate Level in Educational Leadership
The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies is seeking to fill a tenure-track position at the assistant or associate level in our Ed.D. program in Educational Leadership. We are especially interested in candidates who have experience teaching online courses and whose research and teaching are related to Afrocentric education. The successful candidate will primarily teach courses in our Ed.D. program. Major responsibilities include: teaching graduate courses; advising students; maintaining a scholarly agenda; and serving on school and university committees. Preference will be given to persons who have experience with teaching online courses, securing external funding, and maintaining a research agenda.
The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate degree in educational leadership or a closely related field from an accredited university. The position is available August 2022. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Priority consideration will be given to applications received by November 1, 2021.
