Job Description:

Responsible for the website/Timber operations within the Bookstore, managing social media (Facebook, Instagram & Google), developing of marketing materials according to the store's plans, marketing & Management of technical supplies & computer products, and oversee the customer service center manager & POS system operations, along with When to Work software for scheduling students.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Percentages may vary as job dictates)

Planning, buying & merchandising of technical supplies/computers 15%

Develop marketing materials & web business to increase sales & improve profits 25%

Develop high levels of customer service for both internal & external customers 10%

Timber website updates & maintenance 20%

Processing of web orders with precision for good customer service 10%

Register operations & customer service related tasks 15%

Perform processes requested within software programs 5%

To service the college community through offering a complete line of technology products & web based services. Assist in delivering a profitable net income to support the College Bookstore. To deliver high levels of customer service to maintain a positive store image.

Perform other duties as necessary or as assigned by the Bookstore Director.

This administrative position will be responsible for the Bookstore Website, Social Media & Advertising, overseeing Customer Service with smooth POS system transactions with the training & scheduling of the work study students.


Requirements:

The candidate should have a bachelor's degree in either Marketing, Management &/or Advertising or a closely related field and show experience in either retail or a customer service environment. Proficiency is required with Microsoft office programs & Adobe Suite. Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate excellent communication skills and have a strong commitment to working as part of a collaborative team. The bookstore is involved in many events on campus therefore flexibility with selected weekends and semester openings is important.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 1-3 yrs. experience in retail, purchasing & management
  • 1-3 yrs. experience customer service & supervisory skills
  • REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Marketing or management background
  • Independent worker & ability to multi task
  • Customer service skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft office programs & Adobe Suite
  • Computer skills & web-based operations
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to work the bookstore events & scheduled weekends
