Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Media and Entertainment major of the School of Communication and Media to begin August 2022. 

 

The School will welcome an assistant professor with experience teaching theory and concepts appropriate for a Media and Entertainment program. Our ideal colleague will engage students with theoretical, creative, and technical content and help students become digital media innovators.

 

This individual will have research interests in the dynamic and expanding field of Media and Entertainment and/or produce industry-related creative activity.

 

The School uses the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of production software, including Audition, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, and InDesign.

 

Service to the School and university community is also expected.

 

Excellence in teaching, research/creative activity, service, and engagement is expected of all faculty members in the Radow College of Humanities and Social Sciences at KSU. Faculty in the School teach in a variety of modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online.

 

A terminal degree (Ph.D. or MFA) in communication, mass communication, media/entertainment, media production, or related field, or its foreign equivalent is required.

 

Our ideal candidate will have experience teaching digital media production courses (i.e., film & television production, documentary, podcasting, promotional and/or corporate video, music video, etc.,) for this high-demand major.

Other preferred qualifications include:

  • Previous experience teaching media and entertainment content
  • Professional media/entertainment experience
  • Evidence of teaching and working with a culturally and an ethnically diverse community
  • Experience teaching online or hybrid courses
