The Office of Institutional Research and Assessment at the College of Saint Benedict/Saint John's University invites applications for the full-time, benefit-eligible position of Assistant Director, Office of Institutional Research and Assessment. This position works collaboratively with faculty, staff, administrators, and academic committees/groups in the areas of institutional research and effectiveness, including supporting internal and external data reporting, leading survey research, and creating analyses that demonstrate college performance and respond to environmental issues.  

Responsibilities

  1. Report and present quantitative and non-quantitative information to state, federal, and regional regulators and accreditors, and ensure that external reporting requirements are met in accordance with the department calendar.
  2. Lead, prepare, and/or support research studies and analysis related to enrollment, completion, outcomes, satisfaction, marketing, and finance, as well as regional and national trends in economics, demographics, and other issues related to higher education.
  3. Collect and extract data from university systems and satisfaction surveys maintain databases and data infrastructure, in cooperation with Information Technology Services.
  4. Collaborate with and support the efforts of team members who focus on academic assessment and program review, student success, and institutional planning.
  5. Hire, train and supervise student employees in support of work of department. 
  6. Perform other duties, such as representing the Director/Office at meetings, conferences, and institutional committees, as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as mathematics, statistics, informatics, research, social science, economics, or business).
  2. Experience in institutional analysis, planning, and/or research, including expertise with a range of quantitative and non-quantitative research methods.
  3. Experience in using statistical software and other tools appropriate to institutional research.
  4. Ability to communicate effectively through multiple forms of presentation.
  5. Effective organizational, time management, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills, and exceptional attention to detail.
  6. Ability to work cooperatively with team members.
  7. Ability to supervise student employees.
  8. Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Master’s degree or graduate certificate in a relevant field.
  2. Experience in higher education, compliance reporting, or accreditation.
  3. Experience with institutional research, strategic planning, academic assessment, and/or program review.
  4. Expertise in survey design and analysis.
  5. Advanced knowledge of student information systems.
