This is a full-time (9 Month) ranked faculty position within the
College of Health & Pharmacy in the School of Nursing. The
faculty member is expected to teach assigned courses specific to
his/her area of expertise in addition to those required by the
curriculum. In addition, faculty members are expected to fulfill
responsibilities in advising, scholarship, and service as
delineated in the Husson University Faculty Handbook.
Participation in evaluative processes and departmental affairs may
require a campus presence from August through May.Duties and
Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be
assigned.
Teaching: All undergraduate nursing faculty carry primary responsibility for 24 credit hours per academic year.
Scholarship and Professional Activity: All nursing faculty are expected to maintain currency within their professional areas of expertise and to participate in scholarly activities as defined by the Faculty Handbook. Up to one day per workweek may be negotiated to support clinical practice to maintain licensure/certifications.
Service: All nursing faculty members are expected to actively participate in Program and School meetings, retreats, committees, and activities (Open House, Convocation, and/or student recruitment projects) as well as serve on committees within the School, College, and/or University.
Student Advising: All nursing faculty maintain student office hours and advise assigned nursing students following the policies and procedures documented in the Husson University Faculty Advising Manual.
Education: Earned doctorate in nursing or related field preferred (PhD, ScD, DNP, EdD); Masters degree in nursing is required. Candidates nearing completion of a doctoral degree will be considered.
Licensure: Active Maine RN license or eligibility
Experience: Minimum of three years of documented college/university-level teaching preferred. Minimum of three years of direct clinical experience required. The faculty must have documented expertise in his or her area(s) of teaching responsibility.
