About the Opportunity:
Founded in 1922, the D'Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University offers a unique model of business education that purposely blends innovative classroom learning with real-world business application. At the undergraduate level, both the BS in Business Administration and the BS in International Business programs offer students the opportunity to develop into highly motivated business leaders. Graduate students and corporate learners can choose from several different certificate and full-time and part-time MBA and MS programs designed to enable motivated professionals to accelerate their success in business. The school is committed to embedding a global mindset into all of these programs, as well as in its research and outreach activities

Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Manager of HR and Operations and working closely with the Associate Dean of Finance and Administration, the Business Operations Coordinator is responsible for DMSB facilities and space requests, office management and temporary staff and scholar hires. This position also manages the Lunch and Learn series and supports employee engagement events.

The Business Operations Coordinator will direct coverage for the Office of the Dunton Family Dean and is responsible for the smooth day-to-day functioning of the office operations. They will serve as a resource for the Administrative Assistants within faculty areas. The Coordinator will be responsible for leading quarterly meetings for the Administrative Assistants, as well as coordinating trainings for new Administrative Assistants.

This individual will assist with workspace moves and manage space blueprints for the college.

In addition, the Business Operations Coordinator will manage the hiring of non-student temporary employees and visiting scholars. They will also develop and maintain onboarding materials and manage the automated onboarding and offboarding system. This position will manage and update the DMSB HR SharePoint site.

They will also manage and support employee engagement initiatives to help foster a culture of inclusion.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of related, progressive office and administrative experience, preferably in higher education.

  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in MS Office Suite (PowerPoint and advanced Excel spreadsheet experience important).

  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex material and work with confidential information. High level of confidentiality required.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills; exceptional proofreading ability.

  • Must be able to take initiative and follow through on tasks independently, while exercising sound judgment. Demonstrated record of dependability and a strong work ethic required.

    The person holding this job should demonstrate a high level of discretion and sound judgement and the ability to maintain confidentiality. This position requires taking initiative, problem solving skills, and the capacity to exercise independent judgement in a range of areas.
