Assistant Professor - Sport and Performance Psychology

The University of St. Thomas (UST), a private Catholic University committed to the liberal arts and the religious and intellectual tradition of Catholic higher education, located in Houston, Texas, near the vibrant central business district, Texas Medical Center, and museum district, is seeking applicants for a full-time non-tenure track Assistant Professor - Sport and Performance Psychology position in the Department of Psychology. This position reports directly to the Chair of the Psychology Department.

Summary:

To be considered for this position, candidates must hold a doctorate in Psychology. Specialization in sport psychology and completed certification as a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC). Certification status to mentor students during the CMPC certification process is strongly preferred. ABD will be considered but the degree must be completed by the time of appointment. Candidates with a demonstrated record of student engagement will be given priority.

 

This position will teach required courses in the MA and BA/MA program in Applied Sport and Performance Psychology and additional undergraduate Psychology courses, as determined by the Department Chair, as well as have the freedom to propose new courses that fit their expertise and interests. This position will teach an annual course load of 24 contact hours. The successful candidate will provide service work such as academic advising in support of the department.
