Faculty Position in Nutrition
Science
Purdue University
Professor/Associate Professor and Director of the Purdue Clinical
Research Center
The Position
The Department of Nutrition
Science in the College of Health and Human Sciences (HHS) seeks
applicants for a tenured faculty position, at the associate or full
professor level, focused on human/clinical nutrition. The
successful candidate will also direct the Purdue Clinical Research
Center (CRC) for the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences
Institute (CTSI; www.purdue.edu/hhs/nutr/crc).
The Purdue CRC is a 7,000-ft2 nutrition clinical research facility
that provides bionutrition, dietary assessment, and clinical
services for the Department, College, campus and CTSI. The CRC
includes space, equipment, and staff to support government-,
academic-, and industry-sponsored human clinical research studies.
The CRC also coordinates with CTSI resources at Indiana University
School of Medicine. The successful candidate will work with faculty
and staff to ensure high quality services, plan for and develop new
opportunities, and manage the CRC staff and resources. This is a 12
month (Fiscal Year) appointment for as long as the successful
candidate remains the Director of the CRC.
The successful candidate will also bring and sustain an independent
externally funded research program. The individual will participate
in teaching and outreach activities consistent with the appointment
and candidate’s area of expertise. The candidate’s human/clinical
research expertise will complement and strengthen core interests of
interdepartmental nutrition program faculty, and will support HHS
strategic research areas (https://www.purdue.edu/hhs/research/signature-areas.php).
Opportunities to collaborate in HHS and campus-wide exist in
obesity, gerontology, child/adolescent development, women’s health,
disease prevention, imaging, and biomedical engineering, among
others.
