15747 Human Resource Coordinator (Open)

Job Description

Responsible for coordinating human resources support for ECE; processes all appointments to meet payroll deadlines; acts as departmental liaison to Dean's Office, Payroll Office, Human Resources, or other University offices. Ensures dept is in compliance and aware of all University HR policies.



Responsibilities
  • Process appointments for all departmental student employees, research staff, and official affiliates/volunteers. Assist with components of faculty and staff appointments as needed.
  • Act as Department's recruitment coordinator and policy expert. Post positions, determine and process dispositions of applicants, close positions, arrange for offer letters and hire processes.
  • Managing of research staff, collaborating with reports on student, research staff and official visitor appointments. Assisting with budgets as needed.
  • Act as Department's timesheet coordinator, ensure deadlines are met, final-approve timesheets, troubleshoot all related issues, arrange for payouts upon employee's separation/retirement
  • Ensure departmental compliance with all University HR policies and regulations. Act as Department's HR policy expert
  • Manage department's Workday system and reporting processes; provide support to the Director for Academic and Administrative Services for Workday issues, projects and troubleshooting
  • Manage work authorizations for all employees including H-1B, Permanent Resident, and J-1 Collaborate with Texas Global for federal submissions to the USCIS for individual cases and process related fee payments.
  • Assist with space allocation for ECE students, Postdocs, Researchers and Affiliates.
  • Other related functions as assigned.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant human resources experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, work under pressure, meet deadlines, and work well as a team member.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail and follow instructions without close supervision.
  • Goal-driven, self-directed and creative with excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, verbal and written skills.
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Regular and punctual attendance.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Solid knowledge of office productivity tools (Microsoft Office).
  • Experience managing direct reports and providing training or coaching.



Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior work experience in higher education, particularly in STEM or with a significant research operation.
  • Experience working with faculty.



Salary Range

$55,000 + depending on qualifications
