Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor of Information Systems

Penn State Harrisburg's AACSB-accredited School of Business Administration invites applications for a Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor of Information Systems. This is a full-time, 36-week, limited term (single year), non-tenure line appointment starting Fall of 2022 with excellent possibility of renewal. The successful candidate will combine a strong background in information systems and application development with a commitment to innovative teaching and student success.

Specific job responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in information systems and business application development. Primary teaching areas include the following:
  • Management information systems
  • Mobile and web application development
  • Java programming


Secondary teaching areas could include the following:
  • Cloud computing
  • Networking and telecommunications
  • Information security
  • Data analytics


Preferred candidates will hold a doctorate in Information systems, information technology, or related field with a specialization or research interest in the design, development, and evaluation of business applications. Candidates with a master's degree and significant working experience in information systems, Information technology or related field are strongly encouraged to apply. Faculty are expected to maintain a high level of professional activity through scholarship and service. Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications, Python, and software integration a plus. Previous higher-education teaching experience is preferred.
