The University of Central Florida (UCF) has established nine interdisciplinary clusters to strengthen its academic offerings and research mission. In support of this effort, the Faculty Cluster Initiative (FCI) is recruiting seven faculty members across five clusters (described below). These positions have an anticipated start date of August 8, 2022. All relevant technical areas will be considered.

 

The Violence Against Women cluster is looking for an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor in areas such as Population Health, Family Medicine, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Chemistry, and Big Data/Data Science.

 

The Biionix cluster is looking for an Assistant Professor or Associate Professor with experience at the intersection of several areas, such as:

o        Synthesis and fabrication of biopolymers and their use as musculoskeletal tissue scaffolds, devices, or coatings, micro or nano applications, resorbable or non-resorbable.

o        Injectable polymer therapeutics, novel bio-stimulative scaffolds such as electroactive, mechano-stimulative, or biofunctionalized gels or porous scaffolds, shape memory polymers.

o        Bioprinting and artificial microtissue development and disease modeling.

o        Biopolymers for drug or gene delivery, cell therapy, and infection.

o        Soft biorobotics.

o        Biosensor development and brain-machine interfaces.

o        Biopolymers as imaging agents such as diagnostic agents, tissue-targeted, or molecular imaging agents.

 

The Cyber Security and Privacy cluster is recruiting Assistant Professors in political/social science, at the intersection of machine learning, artificial intelligence, security, and privacy, and systems security.

 

The Resilient, Intelligent, and Sustainable Energy Sources (RISES) cluster is recruiting an Assistant Professor or Associate Professor in the area(s) of energy store systems, resilience, and sustainability. The ideal candidate will work at the intersection of several areas, such as a) Battery Storage Technologies, b) Renewable electrolysis, c) Grid Integration, and/or d) Energy Storage Analysis.

 

The Disability, Aging, and Technology (DAT) cluster is recruiting an Associate Professor or Professor. The ideal candidate will work at the intersection of several areas, such as a) human-computer interaction and the design and evaluation of socio-technical systems for health domains; b) robotics and assistive technologies; c) health informatics or data analytics; and d) the intersection of aging or disability research with technology-focused interventions.
