The Biology Department of Nazareth College of Rochester, New York, invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position for a one-semester appointment to begin January 2022. The department seeks candidates committed to undergraduate teaching excellence at a comprehensive institution that supports both liberal arts curricula and professional programs.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in an area of biology (M.D., D.O., V.M.D, or D.V.M will be considered) that qualifies them to teach the courses listed below, and demonstrated experience successfully educating diverse populations of students. The successful candidate will be expected to teach the following courses and/or labs: BIO.Q 109 Human Biology, BIO.Q 103L Biological Systems I Lab, BIO 210L Human Anatomy and Physiology Lab, SCI 120 Introduction to Scientific Communication, and/or other courses as determined by department needs.
The Nazareth College Department of Biology is located in Peckham Hall, a 74,000 square foot facility for integrated math and science that was recently ranked 20th for Best Science Lab Facilities by the Princeton Review. Peckham Hall features state-of-the-art laboratories and facilities in addition to various updated instrumentation available for both research and teaching usage.
