Job Description:

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in Management, particularly in Human Resource Management. This encompasses the introductory course and some of the specialty courses, dependent on the candidate's expertise and prior experience. In addition, courses in Compensation & Benefits and HR Data Analytics need to be developed. The faculty member in this position serves as faculty advisor to students in the HRM major and as the academic supervisor of HR internships. It is expected that the faculty member will maintain an active research agenda in HRM resulting in publications in peer reviewed journals and conference presentations. The faculty member chosen for this position will develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with professionals in public and private sector organizations (for example SHRM and York SHRM) and continue to cultivate existing relationships between the Graham School of Business and the York community.

York College is a teaching-focused institution, and we seek applicants with genuine interest in teaching and developing student scholarly activity. Our faculty are required to hold regular office hours, demonstrate an appropriate degree of professional activity (particularly with regard to pedagogy), and are expected to attend all meetings relevant to the position.


Requirements:

Applicants are requested to have an earned doctorate in Human Resource Management or Industrial/Organizational Psychology is preferred. An earned doctorate in management with a master's degree in HRM or I/O Psychology will be considered. A demonstrated record of, or potential for scholarly productivity is required.

Applicants with a minimum of five years of work experience in business, industry, government, or a nonprofit organization as a practitioner in the field of human resource management would also be considered. Professional certification is a plus.
