The University of Central Missouri Department of Agriculture is seeking an individual for the Tenure Track position of Chair, Department of Agriculture I Professor of Agribusiness Management.

Administrative duties include, but are not limited to, providing visionary leadership in teaching, research, student success, recruitment, and curriculum development. The successful candidate will advance diversity, equity, and inclusion within the department. The successful candidate will also be able to develop and advance enrollment, community engagement and extramural growth strategies utilizing the two university farms

The chair will have the following general responsibilities:
I. Managing budget, personnel, curriculum, assessment, and development in the department.
2. Facilitating and promoting a strong collegial and intellectual climate within the department and community.
3. Promoting diverse values, voices, and identities among faculty, staff, and students.
4. Performing management functions necessary for the effective and efficient operation of the department
5. Contributing to the attainment of both college and university goals.
6. Contributing to the instruction of undergraduate students.
7. Facilitating faculty recruitment and promotion and tenure and faculty and staff professional development.

Teaching responsibilities include, but are not limited to, courses in agribusiness management, agriculture cooperatives, distribution and marketing of agriculture products, futures trading, and analysis and statistics. Education & Formal Training Doctorate degree (Specify field(s) of study below) Other Education & Formal Training
A PhD degree in Agribusiness or related area (e.g. agriculture economics) from an accredited institution. Computer Skills Experience
Required Qualifications: The successful candidate should possess the following credentials, experience, and documented achievements appropriate for appointment at the rank of Professor:
1. Demonstration of clear written and oral communication skills.
2. Documented commitment to assessing and developing student learning outcomes and to the use of instructional technology in the learning process.
3. Ability to work effectively with persons from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Evidence and desire to coordinate and perform agribusiness management for row crops (e.g. corn and soybeans), livestock (e.g. beef cattle and swine), and other regionally important commodities on the university farms.
2. Desire to develop and teach agribusiness courses for on-line instruction.
3. Evidence of teaching experience with undergraduate courses in the agribusiness area.
