Description

New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development is accepting applications for a non-tenure-track Clinical Assistant Professor position in International Education to begin in September 2022. The appointed faculty member will be part of the Department of Applied Statistics, Social Science, and Humanities (ASH). We are committed to substantially increasing the proportion of our faculty from historically underrepresented groups as we strive to create the most intellectually diverse, inclusive, and equitable institution that we can, and especially encourage candidates from historically underrepresented groups to apply.

Position Description: The field of specialization for this position is open, but we are particularly interested in candidates whose work focuses on cultural exchange; experiential education; study abroad; globalization and comparative education; international education, and policy advocacy.

Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate and graduate students with a 3:3 teaching load (reduction for administrative work possible); participate in program expansion and innovative course development, as well as university service; facilitate outreach and practical experiences with local schools and international organizations; provide significant professional mentorship for students; supervise research and internships for graduates and undergraduates in New York and globally.

Qualifications

Qualifications: An earned doctorate in international education, or a related field; experience teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students; experience in program administration, coordination, and expansion; deep networks and knowledge of education systems and organizations promoting educational exchange and/or contemporary issues in international education.

Application Instructions

Applications: Please apply via Interfolio with a letter of application, curriculum vitae, teaching statement, diversity statement (describing how you address diversity, equity, and inclusion in the scope of your teaching and broader work), and names and contact information for three referees.

Application review will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.  For best consideration, materials should be submitted no later than November 1. If you have any logistical questions, please contact Danielle DiRienzo, ASH Administrative Aide at dd113@nyu.edu.
