The Department of Human Development and Family Science (HDF) in the College of Health Sciences at the University of Rhode Island (URI) invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track assistant professor faculty position with expertise in child development, including a focus on the social and emotional development of young children.  The expected start date is August, 2022.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

We seek a scholar who is committed to URI’s mission as a learner-centered research university where diversity, fairness, and respect are valued.  The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in early child development, such as infant and toddler development, introduction to early intervention, or a child development seminar; develop and maintain a sustainable research and scholarly program; obtain external funding to support research and students; advise and mentor students; and, engage in department, university and professional service activities, including serving as the HDF faculty liaison to the URI Child Development Centers.
