The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders ( www.class.uh.edu/comd ) values diversity and strives to be a welcoming, inclusive center for research, education, and clinical service as evidenced by the success of its diverse faculty. We have approximately 300 undergraduate and 80 graduate students. Degrees offered include: B.A. and B.S. degrees in Communication Sciences and Disorders, an M.A. degree in Speech-Language Pathology, and a Ph.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Additionally, the department offers a post-baccalaureate leveling program. Our on-campus clinic provides services to the greater Houston area that represent diverse racial/ethnic backgrounds, ages, disorders and etiologies.

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Houston is a CAA-accredited program in Speech-Language Pathology that is expanding and is seeking applicants for one Assistant Professor and one Associate Professor. Both nine-month, tenure-track positions will be effective in Fall of 2022.

Qualifications include: earned Ph.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field, potential for a strong record of research and scholarship, teaching experience, and desire to contribute to a growing, innovative program, CCCs strongly preferred. Areas of need include fluency and motor speech disorders, but all strong applicants will be considered.

Responsibilities include teaching doctoral/ master’s and/or undergraduate classes in areas of expertise that complement those of the current faculty, directing student research, and willingness to consult with clinical educators when needed.

Qualifications :

Earned Ph.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field. Rank commensurate with experience.
