Bilkent University Department of Music in the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts invites applications for an Instructor/Lecturer position effective September 2022. The Instructor/Lecturer will teach Music Arts Core and possibly other service courses in music. Duties will include the teaching of at least 4 course sections in each regular semester.

Faculty members are expected to engage in creative teaching and service to the department and university. The language of instruction is English. RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Teach Music Humanities courses in the core curriculum and other music courses according to the candidate’s specialty and departmental needs
  2. Service on jury exam committees as assigned.
  3. Administrative duties and service on committees as assigned.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT

  1. A doctorate degree is preferred. Candidates with a Master's degree in Musicology, Ethnomusicology, Music Theory, Composition, and other relevant areas will also be considered.
  2. Degree requirements are expected to be completed by June 30, 2022.
