Entrepreneurship is one of the central pillars of the Syracuse University and Whitman School of Management academic strategic plans. The standalone academic department of Entrepreneurship & Emerging Enterprises ( EEE ) department offers degree programs in entrepreneurship at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. EEE represents one of the strongest entrepreneurship research environments in the world. For more information, please see http://whitman.syr.edu/Academics/ EEE / Tenured EEE faculty members are expected to engage in world-class scholarly research, teach courses in entrepreneurship and related fields, contribute to service-related initiatives and organizational leadership, and mentor PhD students and junior faculty. We expect the selected individual for this signature hire to join the faculty for the 2020-21 academic year.

Qualifications

Successful candidates for this position will have a proven record of excellence in academic scholarship and teaching of entrepreneurship, and meet the standards for tenure at Syracuse University, including demonstrated ability for publishing in top-tier academic journals. The Whitman School and the EEE department are particularly interested in candidates who have demonstrated commitment to excellence by providing leadership in teaching, research or service towards building an equitable and diverse scholarly environment. .

Publication track-record in academic journals relating to entrepreneurship
Track record of teaching excellence
Ability and willingness to contribute to service-related initiatives and organizational leadership in the entrepreneurship area.

Responsibilities

This individual will join the leadership team and work to advance the program’s national and international reputation, which includes research, teaching, entrepreneurial outreach, and in the professional development of PhD candidates and junior faculty. Successful candidates will be expected to publish in leading entrepreneurship and management journals, and have enthusiasm and ability to provide organizational leadership at the department and school levels, including contributing positively to a participative, collegial setting. This position will also offer the opportunity to teach distinctive courses in entrepreneurship as well as collaborate with other entrepreneurship-related programming across the Syracuse University campus.
