Graduate Coordinator for the School of Art and Design

Kennesaw State University College of the Arts invites applications for a tenure track, twelve-month Open-Rank faculty position to serve as Graduate Program Coordinator for our new Master of Arts in Art and Design program, with teaching responsibilities within the School of Art and Design, beginning July 1, 2022.  Rank is determined at the time of hire and will be commensurate with experience. 

 

The successful applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and curriculum of the Master of Arts in Art and Design degree; a novel KSU graduate program with concentrations in Digital Animation, Art Education, and Museum Studies. The Graduate Program Coordinator’s administrative role will work in support of graduate students and peer faculty colleagues, in tandem with the Director and Assistant Director of the School of Art and Design, College of the Arts Office of the Dean, Graduate College, Office of the Registrar, Office of Research, and other internal and external stakeholders, such as the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).  All tenure track faculty have teaching, service and scholarship/research activity expectations.

 

Required Qualifications are:

  • Art & Design administrative experience in a post-secondary setting
  • Teaching experience in any of the disciplines within the MA in Art and Design
  • Graduate degree in Art (Animation), Art History, Art Education (i.e. M.F.A., Ph.D.), or relevant discipline, or its foreign equivalent
  • Record of academic experience warranting Graduate Faculty Status

  • Graduate program leadership
  • Graduate teaching/thesis mentorship
  • Curriculum development
  • Online instruction
  • Experience warranting rank of Associate Professor or Professor
  • Terminal degree in Art (Animation), Art History, Art Education, or relevant discipline (i.e. M.F.A., Ph.D.), or its foreign equivalent
