Chair of Department of Art & Design

The Department of Art & Design at East Tennessee State University seeks applications for an outstanding administrator, scholar, and strong advocate for equity and inclusion for the position of Chair. This position will be 12 month, tenure-track, full professor. The Chair will lead a vibrant department that encourages students to challenge the boundaries of Art, Design and Art History. The Chair will coordinate department faculty and staff in achieving the department's programing, current and future goals.

The Department of Art & Design takes a multidisciplinary approach across many areas of study. The department is known for its strong research, innovative teaching, and quality of student work, with 14 tenured or tenure-track faculty, and five staff members. Additionally, the department supports two galleries with vibrant calendars and an exciting schedule of guest artists that connect widely with the community and campus. As a NASAD accredited program, the department offers a BA with concentrations in Studio Art and Art History, BFA in Studio Art, BFA in Graphic Design and MFA in Studio Art. Required Qualifications

• A terminal degree in a field recognized within the relevant disciplines.
• A significant, demonstrable and active record of research, scholarship, teaching and service.
• Credentials and achievements appropriate to and commensurate with appointment or hire at the rank of full professor.

Salary commensurate with experience.
