Instructional Assistant Professor - American History - (FAC002019)

The Department of History at the University of Houston invites applications for a one-year non-tenure-track instructional assistant professorship in American history with the possibility of renewal. All specializations within U.S. history will be seriously considered. Teaching responsibilities include both halves of the U.S. survey.

The department particularly seeks a candidate with experience in teaching introductory survey courses in American history. Experience with online teaching is a plus. Additionally, the successful candidate will have administrative responsibility as associate director of the graduate program. This will involve regular collaboration with the director of graduate studies and the graduate advisor. The standard teaching load is two courses per semester.

Candidates should have completed the Ph.D. by July 2022, and should have a professional dedication to teaching.
