The Sociology Program within the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work at Auburn University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor beginning

August 16, 2022. We seek a sociologist with emphasis in Criminology whose research addresses issues of diversity and/or social justice. Successful candidates should demonstrate a strong promise of research productivity and teaching excellence. We seek a candidate with the ability to conduct scholarly research, publish in peer- reviewed venues, demonstrate an active and well-articulated research agenda, and the potential for external grant funding. The teaching load is a 3/2 across the Sociology curriculum to include undergraduate and graduate courses. The expected teaching assignment is in the areas of Criminology and Sociology to include courses such as Social Inequalities or Current Issues in Race and Ethnicity.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Sociology at the time of appointment. This is a full-time,

9-month, tenure track appointment.
