The School of Library and Information Management (SLIM), Emporia State University, seeks a full-time academic advisor for its Master of Library Science (MLS) Program, located in Emporia, Kansas. SLIM’s MLS program is offered as a 36-credit-hour professional degree program that delivers online instruction.

Responsibilities:

The advisor is responsible for providing academic and professional guidance to master-level graduate students and for the MLS program’s student recruitment, admissions, enrollment, and advising. In addition, the advisor is a representative of SLIM to the professional library community and expected to attend professional meetings and conferences as needed.

Qualifications:

Qualifications include a master’s degree, with an MLS preferred. It also requires in-state and occasional out-of-state travel throughout the year. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in distance and/or non-traditional education programs.
