UMD’s iSchool seeks a candidate who will build upon the iSchool’s record of educating information scientists committed to leadership, service, research, and innovative practice and impact in the field. We encourage candidates to demonstrate how their research contributes toward social justice and equity, diversity and inclusion, or ethical access to information.
Founded more than 50 years ago with a specific commitment to advancing social justice, the iSchool enrolls over 1,700 students in five degree programs: Ph.D. in Information Studies, Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS), Master of Information Management (MIM), Master of Science in Human-Computer Interaction (HCIM), and Bachelor of Science in Information Science (InfoSci). Faculty members across these programs take advantage of our interdisciplinary environment through their teaching and collaborative research. These programs are offered in the classroom at College Park and Shady Grove campuses, online, and in blended formats. The iSchool is also the home for the Human-Computer Interaction Lab (HCIL) and Trace Research and Development Center where HCI researchers and educators work to transform the experience people have with technologies.
The College of Information Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park (Maryland’s iSchool), invites applications for a full-time, professional track lecturer who is highly competent, energetic, collegial, and flexible to join our exciting environment. Service to the profession may include taking on a managerial role within the Human-Computer Interaction Lab (HCIL) and assisting the director in achieving the goals of the lab, including community building, outreach, and promoting the lab within the wider research community.
