This is an academic-year, 9-month position, which begins each September one week before Labor Day and concludes on Commencement Day the following May. The position is anticipated to begin in September of 2022, prior to the start of the semester. 

 

The Department of Psychology at The University of Rhode Island invites applications this fall 2021 for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Multicultural Social Psychology in our Behavioral Science track. We seek an individual with expertise specific to multicultural research in psychology that complements existing strengths in our department. Areas of interest are open, and we broadly welcome specialization in a multicultural area of social psychology that is of vital concern to society and offers opportunities for collaboration within our department and across the College of Health Sciences and the University. The position will address teaching and research needs in multicultural psychology that are central to our undergraduate BA and BS, and graduate curriculums.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Teach two courses per semester at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Publish research relevant to a multicultural area of social psychology. Mentor students at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Seek and secure external research funding that will support productive research.

Demonstrate a strong commitment to multiculturalism and diversity through research, teaching, and service activities.
