Position Summary:
Under the general direction of the Director of Alumni Programming & Operations, this position is responsible for answering telephones, serving as greeter for Office of Alumni Relations guests, explaining and answering general services and event questions, compiling event RSVPs, assisting constituents with requests for information, assessing needs and ordering office supplies, providing administrative support to all Office of Alumni Relations staff members, under the direction of the Director of Alumni Programming & Operations manage the regalia and ring programs and providing support at alumni events as assigned. This position also supports the University of Idaho Alumni Association by taking detailed minutes at their meetings, distributing documents to their members, and assisting with meeting logistics. This position requires developing and maintaining rapport with alumni across the state and the nation, other departments within the university and with other constituencies.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience with office support functions including word processing, filing, composing a variety of business documents, reception, gathering and compiling data, balancing and coordinating a workload for multiple projects





Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of the University of Idaho and its procedures and protocol
  • Banner experience
  • Experience in in advancement area or in higher education
  • Experience working in an office environment
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Retail experience helpful
  • Good knowledge of techniques and procedures using in program and event development; e.g. managing, coordinating, administering and providing record keeping
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to prepare reports
  • Ability to serve as a liaison with other departments and institutions
  • Ability to manage a variety of projects simultaneously
