Position:

The department of Systems and Operations Management at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) is seeking a tenure-track faculty member in Information Systems at the rank of Assistant Professor.

The successful candidate will teach courses related to Information Systems and conduct research in Information Systems or a closely related field.

The successful candidate is expected to commit to effective teaching in undergraduate and graduate-level courses, employing culturally responsive pedagogy, with a strong emphasis on emerging technological skills. The successful candidate is also expected to produce high quality discipline-related research and to engage in service activities for the department, college, university and community.

In addition to teaching, the position requires weekly office hours, attending faculty meetings, and service to the department, college, and university. The successful candidate will be held to the standards and requirements of the college and department in which he/she is housed for recommending tenure and promotion.

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Information Systems, Data Science/Analytics, or a closely related field from an accredited program is required by August 24, 2022.
  • Evidence of effective teaching potential and/or experience is required.
  • Evidence of scholarly research potential in a field related to information systems is also required.
  • At the time of appointment, candidates must meet current AACSB International standards for classification as Scholarly Academic (SA), and must continue to maintain this classification throughout their tenure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to teach mobile and web application development, social media/commerce, and healthcare IT, IT enterprise architecture, and/or system analysis and design beyond other information systems courses is highly desirable.
  • Prior teaching experience in information systems is highly desirable as well.
  • Potential/evidence to produce quality research work in information systems or a closely related field is preferred.
  • Teaching/research experience in data science/analytics or operations management is a plus.
  • Candidates are expected to demonstrate commitment and ability to teach, mentor, and work with a diverse student population.
