Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Associate Vice President for Strategic Student Support Programs, the Director is responsible for providing vision, leadership, and coordination of programs focused on inclusion and diversity equity, diversity, and student support. The incumbent also provides administrative oversight for five of the campus' most vibrant student equity centers: Dreamer Resource Center (DRC), Multi-Cultural Center (MCC), Serna Center, PRIDE Center, and Women's Resource Center (WRC). As part of this oversight, the Director supervises professional and student staff members. In addition, the Director develops and maintains collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, students, and community partners to support the unit's goals and the University's commitment to equity and inclusion.

FLSA: Exempt

CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,750 - $10,417 per month

Hiring Range: Anticipated hiring range, within the classification range - $5,410 - $7,375 per month, commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.

Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, occasional evening and weekend hours

Department Information

Strategic Student Support Programs (SSSP) is a new Unit under the Division of Student Affairs offering a variety of safe spaces where students can build long-term social connections while experiencing elements of home environment, language and culture. In addition to services and resources available to help all students succeed, these spaces address the social, political, economic, historical, cultural and intersectional realities of diverse students through programming that enriches identity and develops a sense of family within the campus. Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.

Experience

3 years (minimum) of work experience in higher education, community organization, or a comparable setting.

Experience working with diverse communities.

Experience working in a multicultural or diverse educational environment.

Experience with budgets and personnel management.

Experience with leadership, administration, and supervision.

Experience with program development, implementation and assessment.

Experience with program-based assessment such as formulating and measuring student learning outcomes.

Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Highly developed communication skills (written and verbal).

Analytical skills.

Strong interpersonal skills.
