Loyola University NEW ORLEANS invites applications for Endowed Chair of Ethics and Faculty Director of the Center for Ethics and Economic Justice. The position is open rank commensurable to experience.

The Center for Ethics and Economic Justice fulfills its mission through the establishment of a home for, and a new network of, business leaders, academic leaders, religious leaders, and community and political leaders in general, to focus on the search for renewed ethical norms to guide the evolving economic and financial relationships of the post-modern era. A special effort will be made to bring a variety of religious traditions to bear on the traditional functions and roles of the financial corporation. Because of its Catholic identity, its Jesuit academic tradition, its ecumenical approach, and its present leadership, the Loyola Center for Ethics and Economic Justice is uniquely poised to play this role. The Center will significantly improve the standing of the business school and the university, both locally and nationally, not only as a locus for academic excellence and as the inspiration for ethical leadership, but as the home for spiritual and cultural revitalization.

Founded in 1904 as Loyola College by the Society of Jesus, but with roots going back to 1847, Loyola is one of 27 Jesuit Catholic universities and colleges in the United States. Loyola has an enrollment of approximately 4,300 students, including 3,000 undergraduates, and the university offers 71 undergraduate programs and 14 graduate and professional degree programs. With a student-to-faculty ratio of 12 to 1, Loyola has a remarkably diverse undergraduate and graduate student population, and offers meaningful faculty interaction in a picturesque campus in Uptown New Orleans. Loyola has a deep commitment to opportunity and access, with approximately 89% of undergraduate students receiving financial aid and 28% first generation students.

The Joseph A. Butt, S.J., College of Business currently enrolls approximately 500 undergraduate students in degree programs leading to majors in accounting, analytics, economics, finance, management, marketing, and international business. Approximately 100 students are enrolled in graduate programs. The College of Business fulfills its mission to provide all Loyola business students with a foundation in knowledge through teaching and scholarship. The College educates students to lead meaningful lives with and for others; to appreciate and contribute to global cultures; to think critically and make decisions for the common good; and to have a commitment to the Jesuit tradition of a life of justice, service, and intellectual engagement. The College requires all undergraduate students to complete internships and provides career preparation through its Portfolio program. Undergraduate programs have been continuously accredited by AACSB since 1950, and graduate programs since 1974. The small size and collegial nature of the College afford a pleasant and productive working environment.
