Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Information Manager, Enterprise Applications designs, delivers, and maintains highly complex business systems and application process solutions. Applies project management methodology. Develops expertise in several business areas and their integration points to other departments or systems. Contributes to organization success by responding to requests, helping others accomplish required results. A member of a 24/7/365 global department and availability of on-call and after-hour support.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Identifies business systems solution requirements by interviewing clients; analyzing work processes and operations; establishing solution objectives; evaluating information systems functionality to identify gaps; measuring the solution impact to business operations
  2. Facilitates and occasionally leads or champions the effort to document business requirements with sign-off by business stakeholders, recommends business process redesign where applicable
  3. Designs high quality business systems solutions by identifying and evaluating options; preparing functional specifications and configuring the system; resolving solution issues; serving as a bridge between the business and the project team; creating and delivering related user documentation and end-user training
  4. Verifies business systems solutions by creating test plans and scripts; conducting unit and integration testing in conjunction with customers using QA processes
  5. Maintains delivered solutions by supporting configuration for existing applications; implementing improvements
  6. Maintains business systems standards by applying project management methods, tools and processes as best practice frameworks
  7. Participates in system patches and upgrades, and other support activities as needed
  8. Leads technical projects and may supervise staff
  9. May oversee work by department staff to ensure processes, procedures, and communication requirements are followed and enforced
  10. May perform project management functions including resource allocation and task management
  11. Maintains and oversees on-call scheduling and other associated operational requirements
  12. Performs active Incident Management during regular business hours and oversees compliance with associated policies and procedures.
  13. Serves as Tier II incident management responder outside of regular business hours
  14. Leads, coordinates and executes customer and external facing communications
  15. Responsible for departmental office documentation of procedures
  16. Responsible for departmental office process training
  17. Responsible for departmental SharePoint documents organization and maintenance
  18. Responsible for other reasonable, related duties assigned

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
  • Required to work on-call and after hours as needed and on a rotating schedule
  • Travel within LSC campuses/locations may be required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of experience with IT/application support and 4 years of experience with data analysis, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with PeopleSoft 9.x or greater
  • Experience with PeopleTools 8.5x or greater
  • ITIL Foundation Certification or industry recognized equivalent experience
  • Certified Associate Business Analyst (CABA) or industry recognized equivalent experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • End-user support experience
  • End-user training experience
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
Salary

Hiring salary range is $80,523 - $92,601

Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education. Should you receive an offer of employment from Lone Star College, the resume submitted in the application process will be utilized to calculate your salary offer.
