Job Summary:

This outreach specialist position is part of the Mobilizing Action Toward Community Health (MATCH) group at the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute in the School of Medicine and Public Health. The position is located at the University of Wisconsin and statewide travel is required.

The MATCH Community Coach provides training, coaching and technical assistance that supports public health partners, communities, and coalitions capacity to improve community health and advance health equity.

This mission-driven position works collaboratively with a dynamic team of staff and community partners. The MATCH work environment is collaborative and supports ongoing professional development.

Education:

Required
H.S. Diploma
High school diploma or equivalent. Specialization in community training and capacity building required with a strong preference for experience developing and delivering health equity curriculum

Qualifications:

Required:
-2 years of experience building community capacity to advance health and/or equity at the local, state, or national level
including developing and delivering training for communities.
- Experience working with community coalitions and community-based and/or governmental organizations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred:
- Fluency in Spanish
-Experience providing coaching to advance health equity.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with community leaders, University faculty as well as with diverse community
partners and local and state public health professionals.
- Experience in community leadership development
- Knowledge of public health systems and systems change.
- Evidence of strong interpersonal skills; including group and process facilitation, conflict
mediation and training facilitation.
- Demonstrated ability to think creatively, identify root causes, systems of influence and
synthesize inter-disciplinary approaches to conceptualizing and addressing health equity
work.
- Experience with public health issue campaigns and/or community organizing and advocacy
- Experience with project planning and management.
- Experience developing web-based training and learning modules.
