Job Summary:

The Natural Resources Educator designs, delivers, and evaluates research-based educational
programming and services aligned with the position's programmatic focus. Initial programming focus
will include:
1. Supporting watershed initiatives (focused on soil health, water quality and related subjects) through organizational, leadership, and content support;
2. Supporting ongoing water quality improvement efforts by engaging stakeholders to create and
implement an information an outreach strategy addressing the links between agricultural conservation and water quality;
3. Providing regional programmatic leadership and increase the capacity of individuals, organizations
and partnerships to reduce nonpoint source pollution impacts to groundwater and surface water.
4. As the regional Natural Resource Educator, work with Extension, county land and water
conservation, state and other professionals to address funding partners' objectives to reduce nonpoint
source agricultural pollution

Education:

Required
Bachelor's Degree
In a field that relates to the responsibilities of this position, including, but not limited to natural resource management, ag extension, rural sociology, hydrogeology, geology, soil science, agronomy, environmental science, or other closely-related fields.

Preferred
Master's Degree
In a field relevant to the programmatic responsibilities of the position preferred.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
1. Work experience relevant to the programmatic responsibilities of the position.
2. Experience working with people from different cultural backgrounds, including those associated with race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, socioeconomic status, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, and other aspects of human diversity.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. A combination of at least 3 years of relevant work experience in the area of programming and service delivery such as civic engagement, leadership development, adult education and outreach, nutrient management and water quality, organizational development
2. Demonstrated success in developing, delivering, and evaluating educational programs and messages for diverse audiences utilizing a variety of educational techniques, methods, and modes
3. Experience planning, facilitating, and/or evaluating community-based civic engagement, leadership development, organizational capacity efforts and watershed planning with natural resource groups.

Additional Information:

Based on resource-concern priorities, this position will be expected to cover several watersheds over time. The area includes Upper Rock, Milwaukee, Sheboygan, Manitowoc, Upper Fox, and Wolf River.
