Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor of School Psychology (Dallas campus)

QUALIFICATIONS: Consistent with Baylor University’s mission to be a world-class institution dedicated to Christian principles and ideals, the qualifications for the position include:

• an earned doctorate, with preference given to applicants who graduated from a school psychology program accredited by the American Psychological Association;
• knowledge of school psychology and school systems;
• expertise with psychoeducational assessment and ethical assessment practices;
• ability to teach introductory and advanced graduate courses;
• experience conducting and publishing research;
• and a philosophy compatible with the stated mission of the University.

Preference will be given to candidates who are licensed or eligible to be licensed as a psychologist in Texas and have experience working as a school psychologist in a K-12 school setting.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Department of Educational Psychology is composed of faculty members with expertise that spans the disciplines of applied behavior analysis, gifted education, learning and development, school psychology, special education, and quantitative research methods. This clinical faculty position will be based at our Dallas campus working directly with the Ed.S. program in school psychology. Specific responsibilities include:

• Contributing to the continued growth of the school psychology program;
• Teaching courses associated with the school psychology program;
• Recruiting, mentoring, and supervising school psychology students; and
• Providing service to the university and the profession.

SALARY AND BEGINNING DATE: The salary will be commensurate with qualifications and professional experience. A start-up package is available to support research needs. The anticipated date of appointment is August of 2022.

PROGRAM: Baylor’s school psychology program includes two degrees. The Ed.S. degree in school psychology is accredited by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). The Ed.S. degree is delivered on two campuses, Baylor’s primary campus in Waco, Texas, and the Baylor campus in downtown Dallas, Texas. The Ph.D. program in school psychology is located on Baylor’s primary campus in Waco. The Ph.D. in school psychology is scheduled for an initial site visit from the American Psychological Association (APA) in the spring of 2022, and thus is currently pending accreditation by the APA. At present (fall 2021), there are 45 students pursuing a degree in school psychology, including 12 at the doctoral level and 33 at the Ed.S. level. With five current full-time faculty, the program boasts a faculty-to-student ratio supporting exceptional teaching, mentoring, and research opportunities.
