Job Summary

The University of Colorado Boulder student conduct and conflict resolution processes are based in a developmental and progressive response to student conduct violations, including academic integrity violations. These processes are aimed at helping students acknowledge responsibility for their actions and assist them in learning behaviors which will help them in being successful members of the CU community. The Senior Coordinator provides leadership and support for the day-to-day operations of Student Conduct & Conflict Resolution. The Senior Coordinator supervises at least one Coordinator level staff member, and provides leadership on various projects and initiatives crucial to achieving the mission of the department.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Administration and Adjudication:
  • Adjudicate alleged academic and nonacademic violations of the Student Code of Conduct or Honor Code that may result in sanctions ranging from informal resolution to expulsion.
  • Apply effective sanctions that emphasize education, student development and responsible behavior. Initiate referrals when appropriate to resources/departments on campus.
  • Maintain files on all assigned cases, track sanctions and conduct investigations as necessary. Provide follow-up contact with students as needed.
  • Facilitate restorative justice and conflict resolution processes.
  • Adhere to code of conduct due process standards which must follow Colorado State Statutes and federal laws.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation with other Senior Coordinators and SCCR leadership to consult, facilitate, and determine interim measures and other necessary student conduct actions in emergency situations. When on call after hours, this position makes decisions on behalf of the Director of Student Conduct & Conflict Resolution.
  • Provide support and feedback for the development of student behavior programs for conduct matters.

Supervision and Training:
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate at least one Conduct Coordinator.
  • Provide leadership and support for staff in Student Conduct & Conflict Resolution.

Leadership and Teamwork:
  • Provide exceptional leadership for all professional, classified, and student staff in SCCR and the conduct area for Residence Life.
  • Apply de-escalation training and skills in situations that front line staff are not able to manage.
  • Collaborate with Hall Directors to provide support in their role as hearing officers
  • Provide support in the development and advancing of the department’s philosophy, mission, and programs.
  • Provide training and workshops for all levels of campus partners.
  • Participate on committees within student affairs and the university, as applicable.
  • Lead department wide projects, programs, or initiatives in support of department philosophy, mission, and programs.
  • Share leadership and resources, in the pursuit of campus initiatives, implementing them at the area level.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

  • The annual hiring salary is $56,524.

What We Require
  • Master's degree in higher education administration, conflict resolution, alternative dispute resolution, or a related field equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
  • 2 years of professional student conduct or conflict resolution experience on a college campus. Professional experience includes full-time employment, and graduate internships and assistantships. Each graduate internship or graduate assistantship is considered .5 years full-time employment.

  • Support of assessment and evaluation practices in student affairs
