The School of Education invites applications for an Assistant
Professor of Educational Leadership to start August 2022.
Candidates must have an earned doctorate in Educational Leadership,
or a closely related field. ABD candidates will be
considered with the limitation of starting tenure track status only
after doctoral degree has been earned. The successful
applicant must have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching
graduate students and a willingness to teach at all levels of the
undergraduate and graduate curricula. Teaching successfully
through multiple modalities is vital (face to face, hybrid,
online). This position will be responsible for helping to
promote and build the Educational Leadership programs: Master of
Science in Education with a concentration in Educational Leadership
(MSEd), Education Specialist (EDS), and Educational Leadership
licensure program. This will include help with advising
graduate students and assist in arranging and supervising clinical
experiences associated with the courses being taught. The
successful applicant is expected to pursue, establish, and maintain
an active research program in the areas of Educational Leadership.
With release time for research, the standard teaching
responsibility will be 3-3 courses per semester. Service to the
university and the community, such as participating in committee
work and tasks, is expected. Candidates must have experience
teaching, engaging and collaborating with P-12 schools. The
preferred candidate will also have demonstrated experience engaging
with the larger community, including social service agencies,
business and industry, community foundations, etc. Relationships
with area schools, businesses, and the larger community that may
help in facilitating partnerships between businesses and local
school districts a plus. IU Southeast is one of eight
degree-granting campuses of Indiana University and is located
minutes from downtown Louisville, Kentucky. The area is known for
cultural, sports and recreational activities and has a low
cost-of-living index. IU Southeast has an enrollment of

include: • Ed.D or Ph.D. in
Educational Leadership, or a closely related
field; ABD candidates may be considered with
the understanding that the position
will be non-tenure track until the degree is completed.
• Minimum of three years of
related teaching experience in P-12 schools. •
Endorsement or certification in the field of K-12
school administration, or equivalent. •
Significant course work and/or experience in educational
leadership particularly in school curriculum, research
methodologies and school law.
Preferences include: • Experience teaching multiple modalities (hybrid, online, site-based, and or intensive courses). • Significant course work and/or experience in teaching educational leadership at graduate level. • Excellence in teaching in higher education. • Experience providing professional development and supervising practicum. • Demonstrated leadership skills.
