The Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering at the University of Florida (UF) invites applications for a twelve-month, full-time, time-limited, non-tenure track position at the rank of Research Assistant Scientist in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering under the supervision of Professor Michele V. Manuel. Highly motivated individuals are sought to support an advanced manufacturing initiative focused on the processing of metals, alloys, and composites under magnetic and induction fields.

It is expected that the individual will be highly motivated and can work independently and be part of a highly diverse research group. The candidate should have a solid publication history and strong verbal and written communications skills in English. Additionally, the individual is expected to work collaboratively with the Principal Investigator to coordinate all project activities, including but not limited to conference talks, data collection and analysis, manuscript and report preparation, meeting participation, use processes to measure project performance and progress, and play a significant role in proposal preparation and submission. They are also expected to assist in managing and supervising both graduate and undergraduate students and postdoctoral associates.

The successful candidate is expected to have a doctoral degree in Materials Science and Engineering or a related field. Knowledge and experience in computational thermodynamics, computational kinetics, or CALPHAD approaches are preferred.
