Job Description Summary
The Sociology Program within the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work at Auburn University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor beginning
August 16, 2022. We seek a sociologist with emphasis in Criminology whose research addresses issues of diversity and/or social justice. We seek candidates who demonstrate the ability to conduct scholarly research, publish in peer-reviewed venues, demonstrate an active and well-articulated research agenda and the potential for external grant funding, as well as a record of excellence in teaching. The teaching load is a 3/2 across the Sociology curriculum to include undergraduate and graduate courses. The expected teaching assignments are in the areas of Criminology and Sociology, including courses such as Social Inequalities and Current Issues in Race and Ethnicity.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Sociology at the time employment begins. This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure track appointment.
