Job Description Summary:
Webster University seeks a dynamic, creative, and collaborative leader for Vice President for Enrollment Management (VPEM) to provide strategic direction to recruitment, admissions, enrollment, and financial aid. Webster University provides undergraduate and graduate degrees to diverse students at its main campus in St. Louis, Missouri, online, at extended sites across the U.S., and at international locations. Reporting directly to the President, the VPEM will partner with an energetic and committed leadership team to expand Webster's already global outreach and achieve enrollment and budget goals.

The VPEM is responsible for recruitment to Webster's main campus and to online programs (currently one half of the university's overall enrollment). At the main campus, investments in facilities and programs in high-demand areas set the foundation for increased enrollment in the sciences, business, technology, communications, health care, and other areas. Webster's 20-year history of providing quality online education provides the foundation and experience to scale and reach new markets. The VPEM will lead growth in these segments and contribute to Webster's mission to provide high-quality and educational experience to students.

Webster's other enrollment segments, extended U.S. locations and international campuses, provide multiple avenues for outreach. The VPEM will partner with leaders of these segments to leverage Webster's global footprint and competitive strengths to meet overall enrollment targets. The VPEM oversees key units and functions at the home campus that support recruitment, admissions, enrollment, and registration for students across the global network, including Enrollment Technology, enrollment data and reporting, Financial Aid, and the Registrar. The VPEM works collaboratively with university leaders and units on improving student retention and graduation rates and other shared goals.

The VPEM is a member of the President's Council, the President's Senior Leadership Team, and the Chancellor's Cabinet.



Minimum Qualifications
  • A master’s degree in a relevant field and at least 5 years of experience at the senior leadership level overseeing recruitment of students in a competitive environment
  • Experience in the online education market, preferably including marketing and recruitment, program development and launch, and enrollment management
  • Demonstrated success with modern recruitment strategies, market development, prospect management, and the use of technology in recruitment and marketing
  • Strong analytical skills and experience managing forecasts and predictive modeling to meet goals
  • Demonstrated success in meeting recruitment goals
  • Ability to thrive and succeed in a dynamic environment with robust goals for growth
  • Knowledge of university financial aid administration; understanding of pricing, discounting, and financial aid leveraging
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build teams, work collaboratively with a variety of internal and external partners and constituents, and lead implementation of initiatives
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion


Preferred Qualifications


Essential Duties
· Lead design and development of a comprehensive recruitment, financial aid, and enrollment plan that meets goals for growth in student headcounts and tuition revenue at the main campus and online· In collaboration with the Enrollment Management team and university constituents (deans, faculty, staff) execute and assess the recruitment plan, including various student populations (traditional, transfer, adult, graduate) and pathways for successful recruitment of students from diverse populations to the main campus and online; lead Strategic Enrollment meetings to report on and monitor progress · Develop and implement strategies to leverage Webster University’s capacity to scale its high-quality online and virtual offerings to significantly grow online enrollment; evaluate peer institutions in the online environment and understand competitors’ strategies · Partner with leaders with responsibility for recruitment to Webster’s extended U.S. locations (in metropolitan areas and on military bases) and international campuses for effective alignment of efforts and resources · Contribute to generation and assessment of new opportunities to achieve enrollment goals, including corporate partnerships, community college connections, and continuing education offerings · Partner with division of Global Marketing and Communications and third-party vendors to develop brand strategy and ensure investments in marketing, including digital marketing, drive awareness and impact the recruitment funnel · Develop comprehensive student financial assistance programs that leverage the University’s funding to support enrollment priorities while complying with federal and state regulations and institutional policies· Support strong management of enrollment data that leverages tools, technology, and staff to provide data-driven reports for university leadership across Webster’s global network to monitor recruitment and enrollment metrics and make data-informed decisions· Collaborate with university leadership to develop strategies for tuition pricing, fees, and room and board· Oversee the following units in Enrollment Management: Admissions, Enrollment Technology, Financial Aid, International Recruitment and Services, Office of the Registrar; supervise training, professional development, and evaluation of staff · Oversee the Online Learning Center, including development and evaluation of staff
